Sleepy Baby Snuggly Set Pattern by Emma Sadler

Sleepy Baby Snuggly Set Pattern by Emma Sadler

Sleepy Baby Snuggly Set by Emma Sadler Designs

This super soft sleepy baby snuggly set set consists of a baby sleeping bag and matching hat. It buttons at both the feet and neck allowing you to make those nighttime changes with minimum disturbance.

It was designed for my step-daughter who is expecting her first baby. She wanted a sleeping bag as it is easy for a baby to kick off a blanket but should stay nice and warm in this.

It is made in Sirdar Snuggly Snowflake Chunky which is the softest feeling yarn, perfect for bedtime cuddles. The bag uses a circular needle as it is knitted in the round with some sections knitted flat.

The hat uses either a circular or straight needles, whichever you are happy with as it is knitted flat and then seamed at the end. The top of the hat is worked as an i-cord and this is where you will need dpns.

The set takes around 150-300g of chunky weight yarn.

As always, when I’m knitting for the knitworthy members of my family or dear friends, I consider how they’re going to wear it, wash it, the colours they love and what styles they wear.

Cadalach Sleep Sack Baby Sleeping Bag by Emma Sadler

Cadalach Sleep Sack Baby Sleeping Bag by Emma Sadler

Cadalach Sleep Sack Pattern by Emma Sadler Designs

I designed this baby sleeping bag for my step-grandson. His mum wanted something snuggly for him to sleep in during the day.

It is knitted in one long piece and then folded in half. The borders are picked up and knitted and the hood is added last.

The hood is finished by using Kitchener stitch to graft it together at the end. As the buttons hold the sides together there is no seaming to do.

Once you get into the rhythm, the long cabled section in the middle is perfect for knitting when you don’t want to concentrate too much.

As the sleeping bag is not fitted to the baby and they can wriggle around I wouldn’t recommend it for unsupervised sleeping.

The finished item takes around 600-1100g of chunky weight yarn.

Clodah Cabled Wrap Pattern by Emma Sadler

Clodah Cabled Wrap Pattern by Emma Sadler

Clodah Cabled Wrap Pattern by Emma Sadler Designs

This Clodah Cabled wrap pattern was first published in issue 50 of Knit Now magazine. The cables create a stunning and eye catching pattern.

The pattern includes both charted and written instructions for the cables.

It is knitted flat in one piece, all the borders are knitted as you go. As it is made using a large number of stitches you may prefer to use a long circular needle.

It is the perfect accessory to wear over party or wedding outfits, but is also a wonderfully welcome addition to any wardrobe for popping over your shoulders with a casual outfit if the weather isn’t as warm as it should be.

Yuma Accessory Set Pattern by Emma Sadler

Yuma Accessory Set Pattern by Emma Sadler

Yuma Accessory Set Pattern by Emma Sadler Designs

This Yuma Accessory set consists of a headband/earwarmer, a short cowl and boot toppers. It uses the diagonal basket weave stitch which has a really interesting texture that you will love.

It is ideal for beginners or as a project for those autumn evenings in front of the tv.

If you are starting to think about your holiday gift knitting then this project is perfect. As it is made using super chunky yarn it knits up very quickly.

The headband is worked flat and seamed, as are the boot cuffs and cowl. The texture pattern of the diagonal basketweave makes for a more interesting knit and a warm accessory set. You could adjust the length of the headband to suit a larger or smaller head, also the cowl could be made long enough for a double loop around the neck but will take more yarn.

Oak Street Legwarmers Pattern by Emma Sadler

Oak Street Legwarmers Pattern by Emma Sadler

Oak Street Legwarmers Pattern by Emma Sadler Designs

These Oak Street legwarmers were first published in issue 49 of Knit Now magazine. The diagonal basket weave pattern is unusual and very effective, but you will soon pick up the repeating pattern. It is achieved by knitting and purling through back loops.

It is a very dense stitch, so try to keep your tension loose. Keep pulling your completed work into place as you go to give the stitches extra definition. Once you are in the rhythm this is the ideal project for working on whilst you are watching the TV.

They are designed to be worn long and loose with plenty of positive ease.

The pair takes 400-500g of chunky weight yarn.
