Criss Cross Cabled Cowl by Emma Sadler

Criss Cross Cabled Cowl by Emma Sadler Designs

This Criss Cross Cabled cowl is simple yet eye catching in it’s construction as it is knitted fast and seamed at the end. It includes both written and charted instructions.

Perran Yarns have offered an exclusive discount code for purchasers of this pattern. The code is included in the pattern.

The cabled pattern is very effective, using both knit and purl stitches to create a cable within a cable effect. It is a split cable which will keep your interest if you are looking for an unusual cable. It is a little more challenging at first, but you will soon pick up the repeating pattern.

It is also quite quick to knit up so would make a great last minute gift. Bigger sizes are achieved by repeating the rows at the beginning and end which will ensure the cable is still in the middle of the cowl.

The cowl takes around 85g to 100g of aran weight yarn. It is perfect for the changing seasons and would make a quick, yet loved gift.

It is also quite quick to knit up so would make a great last minute gift or for using something up from your stash.

As always, when I’m knitting for the knitworthy members of my family or dear friends, I consider how they’re going to wear it, wash it, the colours they love and what styles they wear.

“I am not self-medicating with yarn. I have a prescription from the lady at the yarn shop. But she called it a receipt. Whatever..”

Carlota Cabled Boot Toppers by Emma Sadler

Carlota Cabled Boot Toppers by Emma Sadler Designs

I’m so excited for you to see the Carlota Cabled Boot Toppers, they’re such a quick and fun knit and I loved making these and the matching Carlota Cabled Cowl. The boot toppers or boot cuffs are knitted flat and worked sideways with a seam to join them once the knitting is finished. You can adjust size easily to fit a larger leg but adding length at this stage, but make sure you have sufficient yarn if you do.

Boot Cuffs are great to wear with my leather boots and help to cushion the skin from any rubbing or hard edges on your boots, they also keep your legs warm.

Are you looking for your first cabled knitting pattern?
Are you looking for a pattern ideal for a beginner or great for knitting in front of the TV?
Do you want something quick and easy to knit or a quick gift to make? Try a pair of Boot Toppers for a quick and satisfying win. The Carlota design is super quick and only uses a small amount of yarn.

This Carlota Boot Toppers pattern consists of two sizes – small and large. Details in the table below.

These Double Dutch boot toppers or boot cuffs are designed to match the headband and cowl using the same cable pattern.

They are knitted flat, the ribbed section uses pick up and knit then they are seamed at the end.

The cabled pattern is very effective, but deceptively easy. You will soon pick up the repeating pattern. This means that this is the ideal project for working on whilst you are watching the TV.

It is also quite quick to knit up so would make a great last minute gift if you fnd yourself needing to whip something up from your stash.
