What is the Stitch Along?

Let me introduce you to the Around the World Stitch Along! It is an event that I am joining in as a participating designer. It is my first year, but the even itself is in its second year. The easiest way for me to start is to tell you what the intro in the Ravelry group page says!

We are a group of independent designers from most of the continents (and welcome anyone else from around the world – especially Asia, South America, and maybe even Antarctica if there are designers there) who have come together to share our designs with special deals and fun.

This event will last six weeks, beginning February 15, 2021 and ending March 28, 2021, so you can make more than one project or make a really large project to enter for prizes! We will have games and prizes and drawings, along with the help and chatter from the actual designers of the patterns you will be making. This Stitch A Long will kick off the autumn knitting/crochet season in the Southern Hemisphere and will catch the end of the winter knitting/crochet season of the Northern Hemisphere.

Remember that to win a prize, you must not only finish and post in the correct thread, but you need to be a member of this group.

If you want to join the group it can be found here – Stitch Along Ravelry Group

Has the Stitch Along Sale Started?

Yes! Each of the 25 designers taking part in the Stitch Along has a bundle of 5 patterns which are currently reduced by 25%. The sale runs until 23:59 PST on 19th February 2021. In order to grab your discount use the code SAL2021. The group Mods have put together a bundle of all patterns eligible for the discount. You can browse it here – Sale Bundle.

Will There Be Prizes?

Yes! If you cast on your project on or after 10am PST on the 15th February and cast off before 23:59 PST on the 28th March you could win a prize! To be eligible you need to tag your Ravelry project page with aroundtheworldsal2021, make a paid for pattern by a participating designer and post in the Finished Object thread. There are plenty of patterns for you to choose from!

Each of the designers in the Stitch Along have been asked to find a sponsor who is willing to donate a physical prize. I have been extremely lucky to have Kelly from Kelly Connor Designs sponsor me. She does the most amazing project bags and this one of hers will be on the prize list! If only I could win it!

Will There Be Games?

Yes! Pop along to the group on Ravelry and join in some of the games. You can also play on Instagram. One of the first games is this one that you can put on your Story to be entered for a prize!

Which Designers Are Taking Part?

We have a thread in the Stitch Along Ravelry group where you can find the list of participating designers. You could spend some time browsing their patterns. I am sure you will find lots of shiny new things to cast on. Once the sale is over there will be a big bundle of all the eligible patterns which will be searchable.

And I Have a Test Knit Running!

If you haven’t seen my posts on Instagram, Facebook or Instagram you might not know, but I have a test knit currently running for a beanie style hat. I still have a few spaces available if you are interested? It is in DK weight yarn, one solid and one variegated. It comes in three brim sizes and has instructions for three crowns depending upon how fitted or slouchy you like your hats.

The pattern itself will be released for sale on 2nd March, which means if you sign up now and finish before the end of the Stitch Along you can enter the finished hat for a prize! If you would like more details the test is happening in my Ravelry group – Mosswood Drive Hat Test.
